I  started playing in Brisbane in 1969 with Noel Lavel and the Country Four at the Shafteston Hotel.  At that time I had a Gibson Console twin neck 8 string steel guitar as my instrument. We played there for several years and in 1974 I joined Bobby T Nash and the Country Raiders. I then had a MSA twin neck 10 string pedal steel guitar . We played various hotels on the Carlton Circuit though we were based at the Salisbury Hotel .With this group in 1975 we took out the award for the most popular Country Pop Group of the year. We backed many artists of the time including Johnny Greenwood, Ellie Lavelle, Barbara Thompson and John McSweeney.

In the 1980’s and onwards I spent 13 years with a middle of the road group called The Talismen playing the Colmslie Hotel , for private functions and weddings. In the 1990’s I played on the Gold Coast with a couple of country bands , Bandanna (who had Phil Emmanuel for a while ) and Cajun Country.

Since then I have been doing freelance work , country music associations, nursing and retirement homes, recording, and backing local artists. For 10 years I played at Desree Crawford’s country music Jamboree at Noosa’s North Shore and backed many local, interstate and New Zealand artists. For the last 14 years I’ve regularly played at our annual Steel Guitar Festival here in Brisbane. I now have two  CD ‘s out called What Old Friends Do and my latest called  Sweet Memories.

Currently I play an M S A  Millennium III, an M S A twin neck lap steel and Dobro. I play through a Evans SE 200 and a Hilton volume pedal and a SMS Black Box.
